Default Water Pump

Has anyone ever changed there own water pump in the lower unit. I started my engine this afternoon and noticed it did not have its normal strong piss. gotta hate that... ck. the pee hole for gravel it was clear. Than i got up into the boat and my temp guage was all the way hot so i shut it down right away. It' been about a yr since i had the water pump changed out could it need a new one already. So again i ask, has anyone done this job themselves and how hard is it...

Yes, have done the job on Johnson and Evinrudes and 1 Suzuki. Average of about 1 hr labor.

Put everything back they way you took it apart and be sure to put some grease on the waterpump housing so that first spin with new rubber doesn't burn burn the new rubber impeller. And make sure you seat the blades of the impeller in the right direction, or it won't pump water.

when you ran it was it on a hose or in the water?? Check to make sure the hose was on all the way and you have good persure!!
Race motor up a bit to see if the piss comes out better?
Running on a hose is not the best thing for big outboards.
Hate to see you tear it all down and find nothing wrong!!
