Default Rebuilding transom

Having my transom redone and I am thinking of putting a bracket on. Has anyone converted from and outboard transom to a closed in transom and if you have can you post some pics and advantages? Did anyone add a storage compartment there?

Gee I wonder if anyone has ever done this before?? ::)

Go to the gallery and look at mine, you shall see all!! I kepted the I/O engin cover and added a 25 Gal gas tank in there.
I was out voted by the guys that fish with me, they love to cut bait and sit on the cover to jig, so I still have it.

Finally got the transom redone. They did a good job on it. Now I have to get it painted.
