Non skid molded in fiberglass

I have several spots where I need to repair the gelcoat in the topside of the deck and floor. How do you mimic the non skid surface when laying the gelcoat or do you guys simply forget about it? I like things a certain way, and thats the right way, so if I can I will re-create the deck surface. I saw there is a material available that you lay into your final gelcoat.
