Default Gas Gauge......

Now I am sure there are over a million posts on this subject, but I dont have time to look :-/

Where can I get a new gas gauge for the V

I replaced the sending unit last spring, but the gauge wont go any higher than 1/3 of a tank even though the tank is full. >:(

did you test the gauge and sending unit before installing? you can hold the sending unit in hand and tilt all the way up to full to see if the gauge responds, my 21 i had to adjust the sending unit because it was hitting the top of the tank at only a 3/4 of tank on the gauge so i shorten the sending units arm and that fixed the problem.

Initially you would blame the sender for poor readings.
Bass Pro Shops has 2"Teleflex gauges for $22. This is the same gauge everyone has like Boaters World, etc.
If it ain't a big deal getting to the sender, check it again like Skools said.
If it's a pain to get to, replace the gauge and see if it improves.

short the sender wire at the sender to ground, that should peg out the guage(full), if it doesn't, try shorting the wire to ground at the gauge, if it still doesn't peg, and you know that you have a good ground and 12 V + going tinto the gauge, then you have a bad gauge

No you should be OK but I would have the wife video tape from some distance so if something does happen she could post it here for us to learn from.
