Default 1987 V20 with a 1990 Yamaha 150

Hi guys, I am new to the Steplift family. I am in the middle of buying one with boat, motor, and trailer for $3800. (Good Deal?) What kind of top end should I expect to plane out to with a 15x17 or 15x19?

I think the 15 x 17 is gonna be THE prop for that boat...assumin' floor and transom aren't ''soft'' and compression and lower unit are up to par on the motor, you can't go too wrong that rig for that $$... ;) 8)...

Pictures if ya can... :D...

Yeah, I tested the transom with the GRP 33 Moisture Meter and it is well within the acceptable limits of moisture. The compression test I did on it was a hot and cold block test, and the motor passed with flying colors. I was looking in the cuddy yesterday and found 4 Penn 000 reels in the box. Talk about lucky! I know how to work on OMC but the simplicity of the Yamaha is staggering compared to that of the Ocean Runner. The Evinrude 200 on that boat I could of got for $500 less, but OMCs have always been thrist motors, never owned a Yamaha , hope I become a fan! Dirk Pitt/NUMA

I am a marine surveyor. I only deal with vessel's that range from 32 to 160 feet. I am in tune w/ diesel and inboard engines, and some outboards. But most of my clients have more money that I and I have to settle for smaller boats. This is my 4th outboard boat, so I hope I will get great service from it. Its always a plus to consult with people who own this particular boat to make an informed decision. I love a soild glass boat, so I think I am going the right way. Oh, by the way. I was a student at the Chapman School of Seamanship, in the surveying program and when we were learning the use of moisture meters, the instructor brought in a Hooters girl and "tested" her most "moist" areas.
