Heard BW is about to release a 19' Montauk, should be a great boat. I had a 17 Montauk, great boat....but the ride! OUCH!

These new hulls are a much, much better and dryer ride. That 19' is a nice size! 8) bet it's a lot of coin though. :-/

The Most over rated boat out there in my opinion. I had a 20 outrage and a 22 revenge. They were both rough riding and wet boats. kinda like shooting an inlet in a big beer cooler with a motor on the back..frank

I also believe they are overated....good but not great boats. I lived close to the BW factory in Edgewater, FL, I know a couple guys that work there. I've been in the factory a few times, pretty neat. They also think they are overated and say the 17 Montauk is the only hull that's great. Take it for what it's worth??? I think people with a lot of money like the name and slogan "unsinkable legend".

They also take on and hold water and the foam saturates big time. The outrage I had held almost 400 lbs of water that was under the tank and impossible to get to. I'll never have another one..I agree the little montauk 17 is a nice little rig if you power it up right with a 115 or so...Frank

Ditto on the 17. I love seein those tied up at the dock all rigged up. Bro in law has a killer magazine ad of a 17 montauk out in the gulfstream, outriggers out, huge swells and a big sportfisher bobbing around in the background!

I had a Montauk 17' back in the mid-80's . It was a great little boat . I was young and bulett proof back then . It was nothing to run 40 miles offshore . I even pulled it down to Miami and ran over to Bimini with a couple of friends . I went out on a friends about a year ago and I'm so glad that I do not have that boat any longer . I had forgotten just how rough that sucker rode . I don't know about the new ones , but a kept mine six years and sold it for $3k less than it cost brand new . It looked like new but that 90hp Evinrude sure had some hard time on it .

I worked for Boston Whaler when they were located here in my home town of Rockland, MA. You wouldn't believe the number of boats that were rejected right off the assembly line and then crushed at the local landfill. For them to destroy that many, I gotta believe they weren't costing the company that much (at least back then). ???
