Default Need Help Wiring speaker wire??

Can any of you guys help me. I have a 1985 v-20 cc. I am trying to install cd player and speakers. I went with the self enclosed gimble mounted cd player on top of cc. I am having trouble running the wire through the boat. I am going to use the access hole covers in front of the boat and the two in the transom for the speakers. I can run my steel wire fish from the rear acess holes to the front. I cannot seem to get from the rear battery area to the center console area.

Any ideas on how to run my wires from the center console to the rear area....my steel wire fish never seems to find its way.

On my CC I have to take out a recessed wall rod box. Fish from the bilge to the box and the box to the console. You cant go straght through on some of em...the tanks in the way.

Oh and pull an extra wire in there this time. Next time you will have a pull wire and pull an extra in then too...keep replacing it. ;)

On the 1982 CC there is a 5 inch pvc pipe just on the right which all my wiring runs though form the CC to the rear of the boat. Locate where your wiring runs to the rear and you should have about the same set up as I do. If this works when you pull through the wires pull through a peice of rope which you will leave there so next time you will have something to pull wires through with.

Find a wire that runs from the battery to the console and use it for a pull wire. When using it make sure to attach another wire to pull the original wire and a spare wire back where they came from.

When I replaced my sonar, I attached a pull wire to the sonar wire at the console and used the old sonar cable to pull the pull wire in then used the pull wire to pull the new sonar cable back to the console.

Hope this helps.

By the way, Welcome to the site.
