Default Trailer bunks

I bought my 84 v20 and it didnt come with a trailer. The boat sits fine on the trailer I have, except the bunks dont go all the way to the back of the transom. 12" to 14" short, could this cause a problem down the road with the weight hanging off the rear.... What do you guys think...

I had a roller trailer that came with my boat. It was 2 feet short!! I used it for 5 years that way. With out any problems.

But my boat at that time was a I/O so there was no motor hanging off the back to bounce.

But you have a bunk trailer, you can do like Airslot says, Make longer bunks!! Pretty easy to do and better then having to get a new trailer!!

But when ever you do get the cash for a newer or new trailer get a roller!! It will make your boating experience much Greater!! My old trailer was just that OLD, I just bought a brand new trailer this year and I will tell you, its the best thing I have ever done!!!

Ok Later

Over time, the unsupported weight of the motor and stern of the boat can deform the hull into what is called a "hook".

As Airslot said - "get longer bunks".

Also, you might try moving the bow stop/winch stand as far forward as possible.

Our freshwater reservoirs are stocked w/stripers...we chase 'em winter, spring and summer(they get lock-jaw in the fall)...generally <10lbs with regular catches up to 20lbs...up to 40lbs from time to time and 50-60lbs are heard of couple of times a year...my best one so far is 34lbs and been tryin' to do better ever since ;D...

We usually use live blue-back herring free-lining slow behind boat w/elec trolling motor...they hit it like a freight train ;D...
