Default Question re sliding hatch

Can someone explain to me how the sliding hatch actually works, and more importantly, how I can "tighten" up the feel of the slide? I think i saw some kind of insert between the hatch flanges and the foredeck ? Is this replaceable and where could I get it?

Default Re: Question re sliding hatch

Fillet...the way it works is the flange on each side is "captured" by the groove it slides in (everytime somebody new gets on my boat, they wanna LIFT that lid >:()....if there is extra play in the movement of the lid, try attaching a long "shim" along the side edge of the lid, just inside the groove.... 1/2" Starboard ripped to thickness just less than "slop" would be great for this as it is "slick" an won't bind....if you attach w/screws, countersink ovalhead screws so no scraping ;)...if I understand your problem, this outta get it... :)
