I am keeping my fingers crossed that the lower is still sound. There wasn't any shavings in the oil worth mentioning, and with a lack of oil in the upper case, little chance that any made it down there. Lesson learned for sure. Glenn

Welcome Frayed-Knot. If New Bern is like my area, you probably have a good ole boy at a smaller shop that will help with tools since your buying parts from him. You got a nice boat and we can be helpful on this site if you can wade thu the BS. Beware the Hammer and Stinky Thong :o

Thanks for the welcome! Yeah, my area has plenty of good 'ol boys. I think I may just take it to one old guy near here and have him look at it and give me a quote. He does good work, and is relatively inexpensive. I hear he has been around long enough to work on Noah's ark.
