Default Wanted: Johnson 140 20" to 25" conversion or trade

I have an (I believe) '88 140hp 20" (no controls) with about 100 hrs. on a professionally rebuilt powerhead. I'm either looking for the necessary parts to convert it to 25" or to trade it whole for a 25" in similar shape. Carbs could use a cleaning which I'll do if anyone is interested and I'll make sure it's running tip-top. Please lemme know if anyone can help. THANKS!

it's older than an 88' it's at least an 85 or older and you'll just need to find a 25 inch motor. easy to go to a 20 from a 25 but from a 20 to 25 is hard to do plus most likely won't find the ext kit and probably cost more than buying a 25 in motor.

Like SKOOLS said, that's a crossflow engine in your pics. An 88 140 is a looper. I'm not sure if the V6 extension kit will work on a cross-flow as I believe they list a seperate one for the V4 crossflows.

Therm:

I agree its a Crossflow, however extension casting are the same for the kit numbers 506/507 regardless of the year of the motor ( crossflow or looper) through 2009 The only difference between the two kits is the bolt length in the rear. The kit I have will work fine. Check www.Baymfg.com for specifics. I have installed two and had have no issues what so ever. One on a 1984 235 and the other on a 1994 150. Check my gallery for pics.
