| Running boat on trailer

This doesnt pertain to a V20 but I have a Sutphen 20ft speed boat and I used to be able to get under the engine and hook the garden hose (raw water) directly into the raw water feed line but now I just can not get under the engine and need to be able to hook up the water on the pickup mounted on the bottom of the boat. A link to the pickup style is included http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs...0&classNum=217 I bought one of those plunger looking devices for bottom pickups but it is to small. Any ideas how to hook up a raw water line? i am out of ideas. thanks |

do you have an inline strainer? Just open the top and stick the hose in. If not they make an inline flush attachement( flush right I think) that is plumbed inline, you just hook your hose on to it, and the water pressure shuts off the inlet side, forcing the water thru the engine. BTW, those Sutphens are cool boats

I've always seen them where they go in after the strainer and hook a hose bib into it. This way you can hook the hose up and flush the engine with the boat in the water or on a trailer.
