I'm having a heck of a time removing the adhesive left on the boat after I removed the waterline tape. I've tried paint thinner, acetone, automotive adhesive remover and it all does a crappy job.
What did ya'll use? Also I'm thinking about leaving the waterline stripe OFF the boat, what do ya'll recommend to making the gelcoat look the same as the rest of the hull? (the gelcoat under the stripe is lighter).

Lacquer thinner?
Sometimes there are a few ones that require that and a razor blade. Good chance you ain't gonna get the rest of the boat to look as good as under the stripe. Bunch of chancey ways to do it, muratic acid, buffing with coarse compound, etc. I'd just remove it, wax it and live with the halo of nice gelcoat.

use adhesive remover from 3M, believe it or not, it actually does what the label says it does. You may have to use a plastic squeegee to help it out, but it works better than anytihing else. If you want the area under the stripe to match, wipe it down with acetone and park it in the sun, let mother nature do the rest

Is that the spray on adheasive remover?
If it is, be very careful in any breeze or wind movement. Feels like little tiny bees on your exposed skin.

try Goo Gone or Goof Off. They work pretty good on glues and label adhesives

I used mineral spirits on my decals. Took the goo off pretty easily.
