| New Steering Wheel?

My '73 V-20 cuddy has a small black rubberized steering wheel and I'm thinking of upgrading to a larger stainless steel version. Has anybody out there done that, and if so do you have recommendations on what type to get? Is it a simple replacement or does it require modification?

Its very simple!! But I have stayed away from the SS wheels as they can get very hot in the sun and they are real cold in the colder weather!! I have just got a plain platic wheel that you can get for any Teleflex steering system.

Well, I already had a stainless steel destroyer type wheel on my CC. Last year when I replace the Teleflex helm steering unit, I had some trouble getting it off. It had some corrosion on it. But, with some gentle persuasion, eventually came off. I replaced it with a stainless steel three spoke with power knob made by Schmitt (seemy photos in the gallery). I like the knob. Makes for easy steering when docking.
