| White Navigation stern light

Guys, Has anybody mounted their anchor/white/rear all round light permanently to the ganwale or stern. I have never seen a removable one work for very long so I was thinking of permanently attaching one. Does it have to be a certain height? Could I take one that is intended for a hardtop mount and put it on the gunwale? Pablo

Should be in view 360 degrees. I've seen hardtop models that are less than a foot tall.

When I get a chance I will post the reg. But the bottom line is that the 360 deg. stern light has to be 1 meter above the red/green nav. lights. This is really in the way for guys like me who like to fish at night. I would hate to have to live with it also during the day.

OK. Question answered. Bad idea for all the reasons given in a very short period of time. Just getting into fishing so didn't even think of that. That's why I was thinking if it was low. But if it has to be 36" above Nav lights then that kills that idea. Will just have to spring for a new pole light and possible a new base. Thanks!
