Fillet 1, I have a slip at Captin Mikes Tuckerton N.J. and fish Great Bay, Little Egg inlet and reefs. If any body does a search I did post infomation on a replacement lounge seat. I made a costly mistake and ordered West Marine their best seat all plastic. When I picked it up the seat frame was made of plastic but the bass that gets all the water is wood? Also it was way to low and not very comfortable My second try was from Boaters World B & M Seating Stowaway Lounge with compartment and side door acess seat Base 39 1/2"L x 13 1/2"W x 16"H. overall 44" L 19" W x 30 1/2" H stock # 16648351 light grey, $279.99. Ordered and picked it up at the store they don't charge for shipping that way. I'm 6ft and my butt sits just slightly higher than my knees. I wanted that seat to keep the boat more versatile and better resale. www.overtones has it for $329.99

Crusher,
Thats good information to know - thanx. I just picked up an '88 V20 as a project - and there are no seats at all. I prefer the pedestal helm and lounge seat passenger arrangement. It is very versatile. I started giving thought to finding a lounge seat ... and knew that was is advertised might not be exactly what is anticipated. It takes seeing and trying out a seat ... to really know its quality and if it is a decent seat. 10-12" base heights (the common heights I've noticed) is just too short. I had found a website of a Florida company (www.boatseatsonline.com) that looked promising with good prices .... but would rather persue a seat that has good recommendation from a fellow V20 owner. Does the seat look like a natural fit for the boat ? Thanx, Brian

Crusher,
I've fished Tuckerton for years. My family boat growing up was at skinners marina, my sister had a house on Tuckerton creek, and I have fished out of capt mikes, rands, Mac hoeh's etc a bunch of times. Gravelling point in the spring, the clam stakes by the stink house, all good stuff. Lots of memories there. |

That Florida special back to back that converts to a lounger looks exactly like what I have in my '91 V20. I was thinking that is was original equipment, but I'm not the original owner so I don't know for sure. Well anyway, I like it.

Brian, yes the seat is a natural fit. I went with the all light grey color. Crusher

I was the one looking for the height of the seat base. My seats are missing and the popular 10 inch base sounds too small. Good to know that before I spent $200 on something that I would have to modify. So is 16 inches the base height on the rest of ya'lls. I saw that florida seat as well and it looks like they'll go up to a 14 inch base height with out additional cost if I remember correctly.
Thanks, Buenos |
