Default 2005 Hurricane Season

It has arrived. :( Let's hope that it doesn't live up to its forecasted activity level, and that none of us gets hit by a strong one.

Every year I come up with a new, and I hope better, plan for evacuation and recovery should it become necessary. Time to get cracking on this year's!

I live in Northern New York. Not many huricanes here & not many big disasters either other than a rare ice storm or micro-burst. We have our cold snaps when the weekly high temperature averages 0, and the snow piles up by the foot overnight. Those events are pretty easy to deal, but we still like to complain. All of this pales in comparison with having to pack up the family and evacuate your homes & businesses not knowing exactly what to expect when you return. Hats off to you all & lets hope you have an easy time of it in 2005!

Hey, Pipe...TS Arlene ran me outta Cape San Blas last week...we only had a couple of days left to be there and looked like rain, so I decided to get home early and get the pooch outta the kennel... ;D...she was pretty happy about that, too!...

Did you trailer your boat down, or do a charter?

Pipe, I trailered the boat down(11hrs) cause it's just a perfect place to have a boat...fueled up before I left , again south of Atlanta, then again in Moultrie, GA(wife's hometown) and had 1/4 tank on arrival...simular for return trip...cruise at 70, top the hills at 65... :)...

Well, we all have to do our part to keep big oil happy. :P
What are you towing with, if you don't mind me asking? Must be pretty heavy duty.

My ride is a 10-year-old 4Runner with a 3.0 V-6, not exactly a "towing maching!" It does fine for my local hauling, but I think something more substantial is called for to pull my V-20 up yonder. Maybe a new ride is in order, but wait, what was it I was saying about $$$ just the other day . . . ? ::)
