Has anyone moved there batteries forward out of the rear bilge area to the front of the boat. Yesterday talked to a old guy who was one of the first boston whaler dealers in fla, sells edgewater boats now. Said he knows of 3 mako boats that took water in the cockpit it flooded the bilge area the saltwater caused the batteries to short out, no bilge pump and the boats went down. Says your looking for trouble with the batteries down in the hole by the bilge pump. Mine are on a flat area right above the bilge pump...He said alot of boat builders are moving there batteries forward nearer the helm, and further from the rear of the boat. also might help in getting the bow down with more weight up front. My 2 batteries are on a small shelf inside the hatch cover made out of starboard... Z
