Hey guys,
I'm to the point where I've removed the old hydraulic steering and have run the new steering cable through the gunwale. * As I was getting ready to install the bezel and the helm, I noticed that the existing hole from the previous helm is too big for the new one. *I have to make the hole smaller. *What should I do? *I know one option would be to glass in the hole with plywood, but would that be smart? *All of the stress from the new helm would be placed right within the patch area. *Should I consider glassing along with a piece of aluminum going across that whole face of that section where the steering wheel goes? * Here's the hole as it exists now: ![]()
