Default Wild Ride Today

Well guys, I said screw the overtime, the bills can wait, so off we went out into the sweat blue yonder. NOT !!.
North East Winds blowing today, as I was hooking up the trailer, I noticed the wind start picking up, but still went for it. The canal going out was flat, but as soon as I reached teh inlet, it turned nasty. I figured if I can just make it out of the inlet and just go with the flow, everything would be fine. Sorry, MULV. I wanted to snap those photo's of the Hay Stacks for ya, but I was up against some large swells. I swear I hit some 6 ft swells sideways out there. Wanted Lisa to snap some photos. but she was holding on to our dog that we decided to take out for the first time.
Been out in th ebig dive boats and been hit with 11ft waves diving the Patty's Pitcher Wreck. Never had no fears in those big boats, but being out there in the V-20 wasnt the right choice. The boat did her job, but it was tuff coming hit and getting slammed sideways with the waves. Wasnt sure to go slow or tilt the motor up and go fast. I tilted the motor up just slightly to try and get over the waves and not dip into them.
We made it back in to the inlet "Wet" wishing I had curtains !!!, but I guess with wet curtains, it makes it worse to see where your going. We finally anchored inside the Lewes canal and watched some fire works. Hmm, I found that I have a whimpy anchor that kept causing me to drift. I actually drifted over a damm steel rod that some smuck must have used as a mooring spot. Scrathed the bottom paint, but caused no damaged. Hit a few more problems when leaving.

1. Motor wouldnt start, the ball was soft and wouldnt get hard. After about five minutes she started. First time it ever did this.
2. At 1500 rpms, I'm going 6 knots, motor putters and shakes at this slow speed. Worried now as with MJ and his shaking motor. Do I have a problem as well ??
M.J. mentioned gapping spark plugs. I checked my plugs and there is nothing to gap ?? just a flat plug with no steel tip to gap. Is this normal, a newer spark plug ?
Once back at the dock I sat there for thirty minutes and restarted the boat a dozen times with no problem with the ball. ?????
That god it did happen out in the bay with those waves. Whew !!.
With the new wire harness and gear box on, Ive noticed the boat idles lower, around 700 rpms. Is this a simple and quick adjustment ?
All in all, it wasnt the day I was looking for, but did manage to get out and find out how the V does in bad conditions. Here a few pics. ENjoy.
Mike, Lisa, and ABBEY. ;D

those are just a "newer style" plug, my manual says to use the ""gapless" plugs for more frequent high speed operation, I use the stock conventional plug gapped to .030
