Default What not to do when your boat is broke

Here in New Bern this weekend, we are having the annual Mum Fest. They close off downtown and vendors come in and hock their goods, entertainers come in, rides, food and being as this is a boating town, the local boat joints bring in their latest models for display. This is the kiss of death for a broke owner of a broken boat.

The first thing I see is a 26' Key West CC with twin 150 Yammy 4 strokes. Good gawd that thing is just beautiful. Got wood? Ouch.

Next one I look at, 25' CC Sea Fox with a single 225 Suzy. Ouch again. Price tag $46K. Different kind of ouch this time.

I looked at the latest model Wellcrafts too. Drool was just a dripping from my chin. Dang, it sucks being broke.

I wish I had a camera because the local Riverkeeper's boat was on display too. It was a very old V20 cuddy with an outboard and an awesome hardtop. I don't know what year it was, but it didn't have a hull liner in it, and the gunwale (sp?) behind the side windshields was squared off where it stepped down to the lower gunwales.
