My friend had a 1985 V20 cabin model with a 1995 Johnson 200 on it that had low hours, but the transom had some flex to it and there are a couple of weak spots on the floor. We used the boat to fish and run around without any problems, I always thought these old wellcrafts rode great and had pretty good speed for thier size/engine combination. He took the boat in to have a yearly tune up, had a few things repaired, new bimini top-1200.00 worth of maint., and the marina that has done all of the work on the boat since he bought the engine new told him that if he ever hit anything hard it would crack the transom. He left the marina after gassing up and headed to ship island in the gulf. He didn't get 10 minutes away when he hit a sandbar and cracked the transom bad. After idling back in, he put it back on the trailer and offered to sell it to me for the 1200.00 that he just spent on it. I have done some fiberglass work on cars in the past, and was wondering what opinions anyone might have on the best method to fix the transom and floor spots now that I have a fall project that could end up being a pretty decent boat. Thanks for any help or suggestions.

I bought the boat, the marina owner removed the engine as part of the deal so that it could be safely towed from mississippi to new orleans. It is going to need more than the pourable stuff bc of the cracks near the engine mounts. I'm thinking about cutting off the outer skin, repairing the inner skin, then either fixing the outer sking and pouring it, or replacing the wood then the outer skin. I couldn't pass it up for 1200.00, even the Ocean Pro 200 is prob worth at least that. Thanks.

I would not blow off the pourable Seacast material it better and stronger the the wood/ fiberglass original transom..........
