Default epoxy coating or paint for a gil bracket?

I saw on a sale listing on tht that you can epoxy coat a braket such as a gil bracket. Anyone know about this, or what it would entail? have a couple of surface rust spots on my gil bracket and i was wondering what the best route of repair would be. Am I better of just spraying some rustoleum paint on them? Thanks.
