Default Rod Holders installation help!!

Hey guys, I want flush mount rod holders on my gunnels that angle back and out from the boat a little. the back ones go straight back, middle ones little farther out and front ones all the way out. However it seems the gunnel is to narrow there to put them angled. do you guys have these and if so how have you done it. this is the best set up for outriggers. Any input is appreciated. Thanks

I plan on doing that to mine, but its going to be a while before I get there. Take the gasket that comes with the holder(if it didn't come with one, flip it over and make a template on paper). Try positioning them on the gunnel in different positions to see if they fit. You can get creative. I'm goint to have to space mine up a little to make tham fit(they're offshore type), and I plane to use epe wood to make the spacers

I installed two s.s. flush mounts that angled back, but not outward. You've got to take into consideration the angle before drilling any holes. I think mine were angled back somewhere around 30*.....soooo you need to bore into your gunnel holding your drill at 30*. It was a little intimidating drilling a 2 1/8" hole right in the center of my gunnel....measure 10 times, make sure you don't interfere w/ rod boxes, steering/ electric wires etc. and you'll be good to go

You will never get them to stick straight out the sides! you are right there is no room!
Yo will have to go with straight holders and get angled inserts. Or buy Out rig adjustable flush mounts and bolt on top, with backing plate under.
