Default Re: Prop Shaft - Powerhead HP rating

Thanks again BS. *Last year you pointed out the V20 I eventually bought, *when I questioned the Force motor people told me about the different HP rating systems. *I really did not know what they were talking about when they said my 150HP was more like a 135HP. *Your link helps to clear the picture. Default Re: Prop Shaft - Powerhead HP rating

I have a 1975 evinrude 70hp and a 1986 Johnson 60hp. Basically the same motor. One is prop-rated and the other is power-head rated, hence the different numbers on the cowl. Crazy thing to change IMHO. Less confusing is better in the consumer world!!

BigShrimpin - check your email. I'm in need of some help with my 140 Johnson and I cant upload to the gallery.

Thanks,
Blue
