I know if I go into the old post I most likely will find out the answer to my question, but I am lazy.So can some one tell me the angle of the transom on an 86 V20?

I am upgrading my fishfinder and I have to see if I need to shim the transducer bracket. Thanks, Capt K |

Hmmm...Why would you need to shim the bracket? I don't know the answer on the transom angle, but I've never heard of a transducer/transducer mount that didn't have some angle adjustability. The transducer should hinge on the bolt that holds it onto the bracket.

Capt_K, I agree with C'peak. All the transducers I've worked with allow for adjustment to about any angle.

Maybe yours is old? Good luck. Blue

when i got my new fish finder it came with a shim so that you would get a better angle.

The Instructions says if you have a angle of ?? then you should use the shim. I did not use it, as I had anough play in it to get it stright up and down with out it. But try it with it and then with out it and see what fits better. Thats what I did. You would think I would n what the angle is since I added a bracket??? But I have no idea, sorry
