Wow thats a piece of work!! *I would hate to have to maintain all that wood!!
But someone took lots of time to do it over like that!! The transom looks like it might have something going on? Is that a patch, or something to reinforce it?

Good eye, I didn't notice that dark strip of something. Doesn't look factory to me.
