Checking for interest in the use of 1989 V20 Rod Box mold

I am checking to see if any other use of this site would be interested in use of a 1989 Rod Box mold I made when making myself two new Rob Boxes for my 89 V20. The mold is by no means "professional" but it had made two good copies to date and still has lots of usable life still in it.

The rod box fits a rough opening approximately 58 1/2" wide by 14 1/2" tall. I was unable to find any replacement rod boxes that would not require framing the existing opening with starboard in order to fit smaller form factors currently available. The orginial plastic ones I had were all cracked and broken and many of the corners were busted out due to years of wear and tear. Not wanting to have the exact same problem in a couple of years, I opted to make my own out of fiberglass.

Here is a picture of one of the boxes I made sitting in the opening. The rod is gel coated with 1 layer of 3/4Oz chopped mat and 1 Layered of 1706 bi axel matte. Light weight a quite strong so I don't expect any issues with them as long as I own the boat.



The mold is gel coated and heavily waxed so its ready to go. It's relatively light weight to so shipping won't be that expensive. Here a picture of the underside of the mold.



IN order to make two rod boxes, I estimate you would need the following tools and materials.

1.) 1 gallon fiberglass resin
2.) 1/2 gallon Gel Coat
3.) 3 Yards 3/4 OZ Chopped mat ( 50" wide material)
4.) 3 yards 1708 Bi-Axial mat 50" wide material)
5.) 4 1/2" grinder, Several cutoff wheels fro trimming the excess from the edges and a 36 grit flapper wheel for sanding the edges flat.
6.) access to a air compress to pop the rod box off the mold
7.) multiple chop brushes for gel coat and fibergalss resin layup
8.) 1/4" drill bit

Anyone interested would is using it must be willing to:
