Skools I realize the price is on the higher side, but other than that what do you think, is that OMC drive a good one, and what he is talking about with the boot instead of bellow, does it sound like he has done the smart updates for that boat. And how did those boats ride and handle. Also what about the floors and transoms on them, same type problems as the V20's or no.
As you can probably guess I am interested in it, I love those style boats and the size upgrade I like too.
Any info you guys can give me about these boats I would appreciate ;)

Willy, I saw your reply over at the BassBarn and was wondering if you were interested in that boat. I don't think the price looks so bad considering the motor and outdrive work in 2000. I get the impression that the boat could be had for much less than he is asking. He went for $8500 to $7700 in less than a week. My only concern is the OMC outdrive I have heard a lot of problems associated with them and a difficulty finding parts. Most of my information about the OMC outdrive I have picked up on the forums, I have no personal experience with them.

OMC drives are nightmares. Steer clear of any OMC drive. For tilt and trim they don't tilt the outdrive they had the motors mounted on a pan that tilt the whole motor. it was a real problem the motors were know to run low in oil when the motor was tilted all the way up or down. Plus they were pron to leak. and the hole for them is to large to replace with a merc or volvo outdrive units. ??? Nice boat bad design. yeah same issues with floors transoms and cabins floors. soft/rott.

Too big and too much work and expense. I need something I can get on a trailer.
Thanks for the info on the drives, I have never had an inboard so I don't know whats the dillio with the different older ones.

I would look around for an outboard model. There are a lot of the old 248 sportsmens out there. The OMC's outdrives are nothing but trouble unless you are a mechanic and I am not. I had a 248 with a 235 Johnson on it and had very few problems and I ran the hell out of it . A friend of mine had the same boat with the OMC I/O and it was nothing but trouble from the get go plus it really took up a lot of fishing room, hard to work on etc etc. . Frank

Thanks for the advise guys, guy emailed me when I asked about the trim and tilt he said it was electric and gear driven, no hydraulics and said it has always worked great. Maybe he just had good luck :-/
