Default Rebuild services???

So, it's time to start looking for a boat. (BTW the V is still sitting on the side of my yard if there are any other pieces anyone wants. PM for specifics.) I'm seriously considering buying a boat with no hull and buying a bad motor and having it rebuilt OR buying a boat with a bad motor on it and having it rebuilt. So, what should I expect to pay to have, say, a late 90's or early 00's 150-225 hp two stroke rebuilt. I know there are alot of variables. Any opinions/experience would be appreciated.
My thought is that if I buy something and rebuild it then, I know exactly what I got. I'm not relying on some guy to tell me that is has low hours and he always took the best care of it.
Thanks guys, Shane

Are you thinking of selling your V? Or do you have another one your trying to get rid of?

I'm not making much progress on my engine. I can't even get the damn powerhead off the midsection! Honestly, I probably would sell it right now if I thought I could. I think I spent too much on the rebuild to feel like I could be happy with a price someone else was willing to pay.

I'll probably end up paying someone to repair and rebuild my powerhead when I get some momey saved up.

To Shane's point, my last motor I bought off eBay. Ran for 9 months and now it's all rusty inside.
