Default Va Beach Rudee Stripers

Me and the crew are thinking of heading up Friday the 13th (I know, I know) and coming back Sunday or Monday. Anybody else planning to hit the ocean side the 14th & 15th, weather permitting?

Weather permitting I will fish everyday I can for the next 3 weeks. Come prepared to hook into a big bluefin tuna on sttiper set UPS! The tunas have been chewing the past week and a half inside the three mile line. My hooked and released a 120 pounder yesterday on a 330 Penn and a umbrella rig, fought the fish for 2.5 hours and then broke em off beside the boat. Pm me your cell or I will send you my cell number,I don't like using or talking on the radio with all them yahoos!

Kracker, will do on the PM. Tried to tell my buddies we should take the 50 wide and run something on it......then I came to my senses and realized the V has nowhere to properly store such a beast so even if we did luck up we'd have to run straight in with it. You better believe it won't be released if I spend over 2 hrs landing it!

Went a little late today but we boated two nice stripers around 36 pounds each. I rented a slip for $150 a month right there inLynnhaven so I'll get plenty of chances to fish this month. They were killing the BF today. I have never seen so much bait in the water and saw whale after whale.

More tunas caught today. This morning at one point 4 of our Rudee fleet boats were double and triple hooked on fish over 175 pounds. The charter guys are fishing nothing but 50's and 80 wides with all striper set ups (mojos). You will not see a tuna bite like this for a very long time. BLUERUNNER GET DOWN HERE NOW!!!! LOL!

That's a pretty good payday at $20 per lb! Too bad we don't have much in the line of large tackle. We have 20's, 25's, a couple 30's and one lone 50 wide. Can't imagine catching one of those beasts.

As of right now we're heading down this coming friday. I checked the extended forecast and it doesn't look too bad....fingers crossed.

Kracker I will give you a shout Friday afternoon or Friday evening. Don't catchem all before we get there!!

Yesterday report is a sad one!!!! we hooked on a giant around 8:30 yesterday morning we fought the fish for 45 minutes and ultimately breaking him off. We hooked him on one of our 9/0 on a custom rod that we use offshore for a planer rod it has half a spool of 100# pound mono with a top shot of 65# braid with a 100# leader (crank on). Caught the fish on a 32 ounce mojo chartchruease and white with white shad bodies. BLUERUNNER get 12" inch white shad bodies!!!!! we normally troll 10" inch shad bodies but we switched to 12 inchers for obvious reasons(bigger bait for bigger fish. The main set ups for trolling for these tunas is 16 ounce inline with built in swivels one end to reel mono and the other side 20 ft of 100# mono to a single 24ounce or 26 ounce or 32 ounce parachute rigs with the 12 inch white shad bodies.

Yea call me friday BLUE we have to get up at the ramp and we can head out together.
