			a 1978 115 evinrude , 130 psi on each cylinder..rebuilt stater..rebuilt carbs..new fuel lines, pump and solenoid,impellor.. $450 with all controls...guy says it was his old neighbors and sat for years unused till he got it and went through it.....20min drive from me... 
		
		
		
		
		
		
			next one i'll just quote his email "I have a 1979 Johnson V4 115 Seahorse (Model 115TL79) that is currently on my old glastron bass boat, that has a rotten floor. I am the second owner and have had the boat and motor for over 10 years. I have only used this about 10 times in the last 10 years (truly !) and have stored it in a carport the last 8. The unit comes complete with tilt/trim, stainless prop, stablizer fins, aluminum spare prop, and all controls, service manual and parts catalog. The motor still runs like a bat outta hell. It shifts well and bottom end is fine. Oil is very clean. I have skied behind it and it takes my boat to 47 MPH. The boat is classic and salvagable, but I don't have the time anymore. The trailer is a very sturdy Vanson I beam type, original to the boat and in good condition, with good bearings and Bearing Buddies, but may need tires. Boat and trailer each have current titles in my name. I am looking to sell the entire package to someone like yourself, who can benefit from a solid low-hour motor. I had it running just last weekend with muffs. Compression betwen 118 and 125 lbs in each cylinder. Looking to get a $1000. Bring your truck and tow it home." i'm thinking i could maybe get a couple hundred bucks for the boat and trailer and maybe offset the price alil... and this one is a 2hr drive from me...second email he said he could take me out on the lake for a test ride in it..if i wanted.. i'm trying to get back on the water again for as cheap as possible lol what ya think is better deal?

			I am interested in the performance of your boat with a V4 on it if you do get it. Im thinking V6 on mine next, but am not closed to a good OMC V4 if itll do what Id like it to do. 8)

	Your boat is perfect for a 130-135 hp V4 Yamaha or similar engine. I've talked to guys that were very happy with them on the 18' Wellcraft. Remember in about 1985 the boating industry started to rate engines at the prop rather than the powerhead. If you install an older V6 (150 hp) that's a powerhead rating. If you install a little newer V4 it'll be rated at the prop. With the V4 you'll have less weight without sacrificing much performance. Just my $.02  |

			I have the bracket...no flotation and has a platform. Da boat is rated for a 150, of course that in stock configuration too. I have thought long and hard on it and still havent made up my mind. My only reason for considering a 6 (150 of course) is that I am going to add the bracket, a Leaning post and a t-top. I just want enough grunt to push all this crap around on an already pretty heavy lil boat. :P 
		
		
		
		
		
		
			Lets hear some thoughts on this. The facts: My scuppers are just above water level. Even too low with two big lads fishin in the back. This is partly due to a big icechest (always full of ice) in the back. That is moving and a lighter/smaller leaning post will be installed there. I also plan on having to glass the scuppers in with this bracket install. Would it be accurate to assume I am getting 85-90 horses out of the 96 120 Force? What does my Force weigh? If thats the case then a fresh 120 or 130 V4 would be a good step up and enough to push me well? I dont have to do mach 3 or nuthin I just dont wanna bog in heavy seas while heavy loaded. How much heavier is a V6 than a V4? Lets hear it!!!! EDIT: I weigh 205. I can sit ON my Force and the boat doesnt draft any additional worth considering because it is so wide. It handles the added weight well. The 18 is actually wider than my V20 was....I had them side by side for comparison before. Certainly a V6 is no more than 200ish pounds heavier huh? *:o

			Even putting your Force on a bracket will make the boat sit lower some due to it being further back. 
		
		
		
		
		
		
			IMO I'm not sure a bracket on an 18'er is the way to go, but WTF do I know ??? :) according to NADA your Force weighs 303 lbs. When you were sitting on the motor was anyone else in boat?

			Seacrets said it right. The pre-86 115hp is more like a 90hp at the prop. Its a good buy no doubt if all checks out but I doubt either will push your V20 very fast.
