Interesting he called it a "Spitfire" face. Quote: "Spitfire face on hull in TAPE in case you don't want it to stay on" Unquote. To the best of my knowledge the Flying Tigers P40 Kittyhawk and the A10 Warthog are the only planes that used the shark mouth. The Supermarine Spitfire never had the shark mouth that I know of... I'm being picky of course, but just making an observation. Anyone know of any other military planes that used the shark mouth? The boat itself looks nice, but I wish he showed some pics of the interior, etc.

The AVG copied the shark mouth from the RAAF from the early Burhma campaign. Chenault said he'd neer seen a paint scheme lend itself so well to a specific aircraft(P40). The RAAF had P40's and Spitfires, so I guess you could call it a spitfire face, but really, every one associates that scheme with the Warhawk/Tomahawk/Kittyhawk. I've seen some pics of later in the war, once the Army had absorbed the AVG, they had the shark mouth on P-51's, P-39's, B-25's and even B-24s. Every one wanted to be known as a "tiger". I Another interesting fact is Disney Studios actually was hired to come up with the "Flying Tiger" emblem

I think that may be a member here named Capt. Bent [going back a few years] he had that boat completely rebuilt in approx a months time. However, I don't recall him putting shark teeth on at the time of the rebuild.
