Default self bailing?

My '86 cuddy bails into the motor well (io) underneath. I know i saw this discussed before but can't find it now. Has anyone made this into a true self bailing hull? I'm afraid my batteries or pump will fail, thanks.

I thought 86 was already a self bail?? My 75 was not and there was no real way to do it either?

Yeah it bails into the bilge. Left the plug in once on the trailer at my house accidentally only to find the engine compartment 1/3 filled with water the next day after a good rain. That's also how i found out my float switch worked only occcasionally, could've been worse.

My 84 is a full transom model. Came with a seadrive. The deck has those through hull fittings to nowhere. I have a friend with an 84 outboard model that is self bailer. I have always wondered about installing some scuppers. The deck seems to be above the water line at least with my bracket and outboard. I dont know about the weight in the stearn and a stearndrive boat though. I'm sure Wellcraft did it for a reason.

My 86 CC is a self bailer, but is rather on the small side, but works.
