Default Question about years

I have looked through the history section at various years of the 20cc.

Can anyone tell me for sure which years the 20cc had the fuel tank under the console? From the pictures it looks like up until 1976, and then they changed in 1977.

I am keeping my eyes open for one of the early 70s 20cc with the tank under the console. I want to do a full restoration on one, just because i think they were great designs and i like them.

thanks,

Mike

Are you talking about the tank in the console? I believe all of the center consoles from 76 on had the tank in the floor under the console.

Yes, thats exactly what i'm talking about. It looks like they were the same from 70 - 76 and had the tank under the console?

I just like the layout of those years. I'm keeping my eye out for a project!!

Mike, mine is an 84 and the tank is under the console.

I dont know what kind of project you are looking to get into or where you are located but I know where you can get a cuddy cabin for about $2000 with a 150 hp Johnson fast strike. The transom needs to be replaced. By now he may take even less then $2000.

Let me know if you are interested. Here is a link to my gallery with pictures of the boat.

As I'm readin' this I think I see a miscommunication...early versions had tank actually inside the console, but above the floor...> '77 had tank IN FLOOR, UNDER the console...

I would not pass up a good hull no matter what year it is!! There are some better years then others, and if need be you can get tanks for under the console if need be, and leave the belly tank empty.
Or rip it out and redesign the deck the way you want.

you guys are right, there are so many hulls for sale for cheap. Maco - you are also right, its stupid to turn down a cheap hull.

I really like the interior design of the 70 - 76 20cc's. They are simple, open space and would make a good chesapeake bay light tackle /fly fishing boat.

Their lack of an inner liner will make for a pretty easy restoration i think because you don't have to deal with a tank under the floor, there aren't many hatches, and the transom is very easy to get to from the inside.

Just my .02, i think those old 20s look really nice all polished up!!
