I had a 16' Slickcraft w/a 85 Rude and always thought it went pretty good. I put on a "dolefin" and found it came out of the hole better and it made the boat ride a little higher out of the water, thus , a little more top end. The dolefin was like the wings of a bird, they mounted perpendicular on the cavitation plate. There is another style that looks like one large fat fin that extends out and over the prop. That style claims better lift at the stern and keeps the prop in a tight "water column" for better prop performance. Seems like it may be a better design if you have trim attitude issues. Anybody have any experience with the second "wing" mentioned?
