I slipped away for an hour (lunch) and started on my pulpit today. I've got some minor issue to work through, but the beginning was easy enough. Measure ten times, drill one...you guys know the drill...
I startd by marking the center line, locating the roller for proper end clearance, then marked my holes. I used a 1/8" bit for my pilot holes. After that, I flipped her over and cut a 1/2" recess with a 7/8" forstner bit so that I could recess the nuts on the underside...
Hey, I got mine on the boat before Hammer...
And here is my one problem to work through. Just left of the pulpit, by maybe 1/2", is my chain pipe...
I'm not sure what I'm gonna do. Maybe I move it, maybe I throw the pulpit on the table saw and rip 3/4" off each side?
What should I do? More to follow...
