Default Rod and Reel Combo help
Being new to saltwater fishing, I have no equipment. I want to pick up a rod and reel combo for me and one for my daughter. Is it realistic to think that I can spend 50-100$ on a combo for each of us?

If so, any recommendations on the brand of rod and reel. Penn? Daiwa? Shakespear?

I am thinking of a spinning reel to start out. (multipurpose?)

The 3-4 times I have been out so far I have always used my buddy's equipment.
