Here we go ;D
Before I purchased the boat this year, it sat for at least 1 year. The boat was winterized but has about ¼ tank of old fuel still in the tanks (I am guessing on the ¼ tank as when the boat is stationary the fuel gage reads empty, but when it is running and we are moving it reads about ¼ tank)
Before I purchased the boat it did start right up from the internal/old gas. I am currently running on an external tank and everything is running beautifully (knock on wood, fiberglass, grab a fake titty…actually grab two fake tittys ;D.) but I also think it is dumb to be lugging around the old gas and wasting the space with the external if I do not have to. So, 1st I want to drain the internal tank, can I just siphon it threw the gas line? Or any suggestions would be appreciated.
2nd, after draining the tank, what are the next steps I should be taking to clean out the old tank? Should I completely remove the tank or just drain, fill up with some tank cleaner, gas her up and go for it? :-X
The tank it self looks like sh!t, but I assume it does not leak. The hoses and clamps must of been replaced somewhat recently because they look pretty good.
