I looked this boat yesterday that is local to me.

The good

1972

T-Top with electronics box, decent looking T-Top


2000 Mercury 150hp 2 stroke used 4 season runs great.
mercury outboard bought new by current owner Installed in 2002 as new. Does not know hours but says they are low. The outboard was mounted to a little bracket that seem to allow it to mount a couple inches higher that factory mount location. The bracket was stainless and 2-4 inch set back.

He said that he had redone all the wood floors with a solid marine plywood. Then he laid in orginial floor. The floors were solid.



The bad

Transome seemed strong but it had a bracket that bolted from the floor to the transome for reinenforcement. Also had a little metal cap along the top edges of the transome. The guy had made a little curtain between the outboard and the transome to keep the water out.

The guy live on the water. The boat stayed in the water. He said the boat stayed the water four about six months a year. The stern of the boat had water that just sat in it. He had two holes in the rear of the transome were water just seemed to come in and go out. He said that it was self bailing. When I arrived at least two inches of water were just sitting in the back of the boat.

There were live barncles in the rear of the floor and transome.

None of the eletrics worked except the fish finder.

To start the boat we had to jump across the starter solenoid on the outboard.

We removed the boat from the water and more barncles. Not tons and they seemed like they could be gotten off with a few hours of work.

He pulled on the outboard very hard and the transome did not flex at all. but the floor mounted bracket won't allow it to move correct.

At low rpm's the outboard sounded the low water alarm. He said that he had just put a gear in the water pump, but it must have needed a new housing. He said that he would install a new housing if I bougt it. He said that he would gaurentee the motor. It did run great at high RPM's.

The trailer would hold the boat but probably not good for long term use. Looks like it was made for a smaller boat.

The guy wanted $4500 and did not want to budge on the price. He said that he was basically selling the outboard and giving the boat away with it.

The boat seemed solid.

The guy was older and seemed to be honest. I just don't know if it is worth it.
