I call the prop place you suggested. Talked to Jeff. He told me I should go to a 15 or 14 pitch prop (same 14 1/4 diameter). He said that would get the RPMs up there, and put less of a strain on the motor. He said to stay with the 4 blade. Only problem is his props were $523 !!
Checked around the net and the closest prop I could come up with was a 14 3/4 X 15 - aluminum 4 blade prop for ~ $ 130.
Not sure what to do. I do think the boat is too heavy (for some unknown reason) - if it were 900 lbs lighter, I'm sure the 17 pitch prop would be ok.
