Default Re: Cuddy VS Center Console ride quality....

Stink - mac

You're both right .... Think of the physics ...
In a CC you stand/sit easily 4 feet (or more) futher aft.
Probably very near the center of gravity (CG) of the boat.
(the point about which it pivots - a fulcrum on a see-saw)

In the cuddy - you are forward of the CG ...
so you go up and down more.

Also - there nothing up forward on on CC - yeah it's light up there and it does not come down as hard on the waves as the cuddy with the extra fiberglas, and windshield, and all the stuff in the cuddy -

Also - these Deep-Vee hulls ride on their a$$,
The bow always comes up. and when they go thru wave - in a cuddy you go up and down more.

Now as to which is better - as you say - it is a matter of choice - and your needs.
Sure the CC is nice - in June - but not in November!!! - It is ciovered up by then !
The Cuddy, with a top and side curtains gives a whole lot more protection !! And having a locking cabin sure is a nice to have - not mention a place for mama and and cedar bucket! My kids keep bustin me about - why do have to have a boat without a cabin? !!!

...so having had a V20 CC, and several Bertram Mopies and Bahia Mars - that 's my $0.02 woth ...
