Is your CC a center console or a cutty cabin?
If you have a center console I'd make sure you relocate the fuel tank farther forward than it current location. If you look in my gallery you can see pictures of what I had to due to fix the weight distribution of my 74 center console.
Basically, if you don't redistribute the weight in a center console there isn't enough weight forward of the hull's center of gravity and the stern sits to low in the water in the rear. In this orientation, the water across the prop is adversely affected and it WILL cavitate the prop even at normal speeds. In my case I attempted to lower the bracket so that the cavitation plate was even with the keel and still had the same issue. However, relocating the fuel tank fixed my problem.
