I tried about what you have sugested and if you do have rotted wood that will not do much good. I ended up cutting out the bad section and replacing it. My floor had issues in that area for several years before I replaced it. If its just a little flex I'd not worry to much and just wait until it becomes an issue. I did go around and removed every screw in the floof of my boat and resealed them to help prevent any furture damage.
