I've been going out in my boat, the 18' skiff
I have done 100 mile days and burned only about 25 gallons. Not Offshore like the Canyons, but fishing Cox's Ledge, Mudhole, Fingers ect.... Knock on wood, I have been lucky with weather/sea and only go if I have a "defenant' window.
Still scared to death of running towards blitzing whales.. as I had whales with in a few yards of the boat that just dwarfed me. Bite should start picking up so if you want to go, let me know.
I'm actually thinking of doing my 1st Tog trip tomorrow. Planning on running around for a bit and see if any bones/albies are showing up, Jig up some bass/blues then anchor up on a good early spot that usually gets over fished by Oct 1st and crush up some crabs...
