I was able to pinch a few hours away from a job today and had to see how this motor would preform in real world condition's . To this point I've only run it in a garbage pail of water and all seemed well. I put this 20" motor on my tin boat that has a 15" transom, so I wasn't expecting any "real performance". Gotta tell ya I was very happy how she went. It did get the boat up on plane although it felt like I had 800lbs. of gear in the boat. It ran great, starts right up, strong piss stream, shifts perfect and she topped out at about 15mph and I still had a little left in the throttle [didn't want to push it to hard given the 20" leg] Overall I'm very pleased and it is now officially the kicker motor. I even did a Seatow.....I towed in a 1950 Bayliner Cierra w/ a 125[?] Force. He says he had a dead battery so I dragged him about 1/4 mile back to the ramps. The guy told me that four other larger boats [larger than my 8 h.p. 15' Duranautic] just drove right pass him ignoring his calls for help. That's bad karma man.
