Transom replacement
1975 V .Well I finally got another day to rip into this transom, did the messy part grinding back all the old glass, made the template and cut the wood. I'm not sure how I did, did I grind back far...

tilt and trim
my outdrive comes out of the water in reverse
have a 75 chris craft lancer with a 350 volvo penta
are there some kind of springs that might have broken,
no fluid leak and the tilt and trim still...

Thanks for the comeback, actually the whole Transom has been cut off already, it was like brown dirt in there. So it seems not that much extra work to just go all the way up and make the cap...

20" or 25" shaft length ?
Redoing my transom on a 75' V20 I need a new ( used ) motor. I was wondering if I should close up the Transom to accept a 25" motor. I don't know which motors in the 175 hp range are more common, 20"...

Glass over Gel coat ?
If I cut the inner skin under the splashwell to reattach stringers to transom can i just use resin and glass matting right over the cut onto the Gel coat?
