Hey that looks like a good idea. What I'm really thinking about is trying to keep the weight of the batteries ( two group 27 ) away from the back of the boat

I get what you are trying to do...these hulls ride as good as any 20'er, however too far forward and your batteries could take too much of a pounding...that aft-most floor hatch I mentioned is about as for forwards as I'd wanna put mine...of course you can go farther forward to the next floor hatch and probably not get in too much trouble...I just drilled a hole in the top of the back wall of the hatch and ran the wires out that way under the floor...would work fine for what you are doing too...try and find grommets to seal the thru-holes if you can...
