bracket gaps
i tried searching for the thread about someone here having the straight bracket with the curved v-20 transom. i was looking for ideas about how to close the gap.
That was me, all I did was take a PT 4X4 and cut wedges for the corners. Covered with 5200 and they are still on there today in great shape thats 6 years ago.
I wish I then what I know now and I would have taken more and better pic's. http://www.wellcraftv20.com/gallery/..._008.sized.jpg http://www.wellcraftv20.com/gallery/...icture_010.jpg http://www.wellcraftv20.com/gallery/..._018.sized.jpg |
thanks MJ, did you bolt through the wood after it was in. how many bolts you bolted?
Yes the bolts went thur the wood, and it was the last 2 holes on the bracket. With the 5200 it wasn't moving!
the wood will be easier to work with than making molds of glass or welding up aluminum.
i cant remember which of the big bracket companys it was but one of them made a bracket just for the V.
All of them will make for your boats shape, but I assume that this is a bracket he picked up some were like me and is going to make it fit.
New is $900 and up! |
