Cuddy to CC conversion questions
I saw Kracker,s conv. and really like it.
Questions: Is there model years that are preferable when doing this? I know the 70's had the lower cap. Can the existing cuddy cap be cut and modified to look like the CC cap or do I have to form one from scratch? I've been in and around boats my whole life but have zero fiberglass experience. Is this worth the trouble or should I look for a V already in CC configuration? Also, if Kracker's viewing, what kind of performance do you get from that beauty? Thanks, Bo |
If you want to do an extreme amount of work and spend a LOT of money for something custom then yeah it's worth it.....
If you just want a CC then no way no how. |
Thanks Smoke. Straight to the point!

I got an '83 V-20 center console I'll give you to practice playing with fiberglass. This way you will not have to cut up your cuddy to find out your no good at it.

Bradford... Any chance you have the footwell for the console?
I need one |
I'll have to look it up in the gallery or go to where I have it parked, not sure of what your talking about.

The back of the console closest to the driver has a large opening ... There is a panel that screws in to close the hole... Usually has a notch for a foot rest and a shelf above it.
Maybe 2'x3' ish overall. |
I'll check, I think it does have it. Been looking at so many consoles and boats lately I forget.

Bradford,
Thanks for the offer! What does it need to be seaworthy? I'm assuming most everything. |
She looks a little rough. ("Little" being very subjective as well as relative.) Total delam of fuel tank hatch, soft forward fish box hatch. *** u me the transom and stringers might be ok. Needs rewiring/rigging, no engine, remains of hydrolic steering. No bottom paint. A good cleaning and I think I could sell her to someonefor a few bucks on a trailer, but wouldn't mind giving the hull to someone on here who really wants to take her on as a full blown project. I've seen worse resurrected from the grave.
